José Sanchez Loureda

Chair

José has been living in South Croydon for over ten years, along with his wife, two children and recently adopted two cats. His children attend local schools, and the family are involved in the local community and residents groups. His background is in digital and technology, having worked for a number of UK and US companies. José is also a trustee for a regional healthcare charity in Surrey. He looks forward to working together to celebrate our South Croydon community, support local schools and businesses, and strengthen our social fabric.

Josi Kiss

Treasurer

Josi grew up in Purley and, after university, lived and worked around the world for 20+ years, in buying and product development. She has been back in Croydon since 2002 and is currently a company director. Between 2016 & 2022 she was one of the volunteer directors of Made in Croydon CIC, and in 2014 she helped set up the Friends of Park Hill Park, where she is the volunteer co-chair working with the police and council, organising events and arts projects & working with all the fabulous volunteers creating the community Walled Garden. Josi is also passionate about dogs, coffee and cake!

Connie Duxbury

Secretary

Connie has lived in South Croydon for 3 years and is an active member of many local community groups. Her day job is in the renewable energy industry for an energy supplier, but outside of work, she is also the CEO and Founder of Croydon Community Energy (Croydon’s only not-for-profit renewable energy cooperative). She cares deeply about climate action, and was a founding member of Croydon Climate Action back in 2021. Connie also regularly does Olympic weightlifting and is excited to see a full calendar of events celebrating our area!

Bex de Paula Hanika

General Committee

Bex has lived in South Croydon for over 25 years, her children have grown up here, and she lives in a rambling house together with their mad dog and cats. Bex has a background in publishing, graphic design and print, with over 20 years experience of managing large scale print projects both here and abroad. She now runs a business in South Croydon and helped start the original SCCA with the aim of bringing the community together and giving them a voice. 

Matthew Dormer

General Committee

Matthew has lived in Croydon for most of his life. He is passionate about the environment and making Croydon a better place. He is a Programme/Project manager by profession – taking pride in his work and making a difference. Matthew’s personal interests, include; Art, history, architecture, tech and chess.

Simon Wilkins

General Committee

Simon was born in Penge and lived in Croydon for over 50 years. He is a  member of Friends Of Haling Park and well known & networked in the local community. Simon is a strong believer in ‘listen first’ and communication is everything. ​He works in Real estate development and is a lover of History, Cars, Music, Trains and Life. He is a family man, married with 3 children, 3 cats and a dog. Simon’s values are: fair and reasonable, get it done & speak up. His aims: to live life, leave the world a better place, Treat others as equals.
