History Talks
In addition to our visits, we are excited to announce a series of history talks that delve into our town’s rich past. Local historians will share captivating stories and insights that highlight key events and figures from our community’s history. These talks promise to be both informative and engaging. These will include Why we live in Haling and not South Croydon, The Bourne Waters and Snobs Island.
Visit to the town’s Blue watch & Fire Station
As you may be aware we visited the Towns biggest fire station, and what a visit it was Adam of Blue watch and his team made us most welcome and gave us a great day. From manning the hoses to putting on the firefighting suit and equipment. And yes we do plan to do another.
St. Peter’s Church and Its Bells
Next, we visited the historic St. Peter’s Church, known not only for its beautiful architecture but also for its iconic bells. During this visit, we learn about the church’s history, its role in the community, and the significance of its bell tower. Experienced the rich traditions that have echoed through the years.
